Finca La Guitarra, a newer addition to the Vides family’s coffee-growing assets, is nestled between steep mountains in La Libertad, Huehuetenango, Guatemala. Acquired in 2017 with a focus on producing high-scoring coffees, the farm reaches an altitude of 1937 masl and exclusively cultivates San Ramon and Bourbon varieties. The complexity of San Ramon, a Typica descendant suited to high altitudes and resistant to harsh climates, complements the elegance of Bourbon, though both have lower yields. These varieties thrive among other trees, fostering a rich ecosystem that supports diverse bird species. Named for the lianas resembling guitar strings in the bordering forest, La Guitarra lives up to its name with the melodies of its vibrant wildlife.
